Dara Pharma, the winner of 2020 SME of the Year Award

On October 21, DARA PHARMA took the Barcelona’s SME of the Year 2020 award, a territorial selection phase of the contest 2020 SME of the Year. Organized by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Banco Santander, with the collaboration of leading Spanish newspapers, the award acknowledges those small and medium-sized companies, whose activity is essential in generating employment and wealth. More than 1,600 companies have participated in this IV Edition of the SME of the Year Award.

The jury, made up of a representative of the Territorial Delegation of Banco Santander, a representative of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, an institutional representative and a representative of the newspaper La Vanguardia, have awarded Dara’s last year’s revenue increase by 40%, that helped generate about 60 jobs.

Additionally, four runners-up have been awarded: Eolos Floating for Internationalization award, Wallbox for Digitization and Innovation, Kivnon for Training and Employment and, finally, Laboratorios Lamarvi cosmetics as Responsible Business. A Special Mention for the Best Initiative in the fight against COVID-19 in 2020 was given to GasN2.

At the awards ceremony, DARA PHARMA was represented by Andreu Antonell, General Director of the company, and Belén Fernández, Financial Director. In his words of thanks, Antonell dedicated the award to the entire DARA team, for their effort, infinite involvement and dedication.

In the first quarter of 2021, the Chamber of Commerce will choose, among the winners of the territorial Chambers, the SME of the Year 2020, based on the following criteria: the ability to generate employment, the level of digitization, its internationalization and the responsible management.
